Fans of the mountains discover a ittle piece of heaven here with us – no matter how high and airy you set your sights. Hikers love the Schmitten Höhe, the Maiskogel, as well as the beautiful paths in and around Zell am See. The “Pinzgauer Spaziergang” is a true treat, a hiking trail that begins just around the corner. Want to plunge even deeper into the world of the Hohe Tauern? If so, come to us here at the Fürthermoar Alm. The ride up on the bus is included in the price of lodging
If you have ever heard of the “Glockner Tour” and your pulse begins to race at the very thought of it, then we are the place for you. This tour begins right by the Fürthermoar Alm, as does a fascinating herb theme path. If you are longing to head as high as possible, why not hike up the Hohes Wiesbachhorn, to the Krefelderhütte or the Griesskogel. Or clip on to one of the new via ferrata (fixed cable) climbs in the Höhenburg Arena. With your alpine efforts behind you, we look forward to serving you our legendary, mouthwatering “Fürthermoar Almjause”. Afterwards, if you don’t want to travel back to the valley, you are welcome to stay at the Alm for the night, with breakfast included next morning.
What is your preferred way to get around in the mountains of your chosen holiday region? Do you like going hiking, prefer something more extreme, or do you want to spend your vacation on two wheels? Whatever you have in mind, the Zell am See Kaprun region is the right destination for you.
On two wheels – with or without a motor
If you prefer to be mobile on two wheels, you have a number of choices here. Road bikers and fans of narrow tires can push themselves to the max on the Tauern Bike Path – while the Grossglockner High-Alpine Road, the route of the legendary “King of the Glockner” race – awaits riders with plenty of stamina. But that’s still not all. Other famous road-bike routes, such as the Hochkönig Tour, the tour through Pillerseetal and the Gerlos Pass, are all not too far away.
Mountain bikers will definitely have heard whispers about the Hundstein Tour at some point in time – far from being an insider tip anymore, but still a fantastic experience. Equally as exhilarating: a ride over the Bucker Berg to Fusch a.d. Glocknerstrasse. If you are a motorcyclist, you probably already know about this road, right? If the very thought of riding up and down the endless switchbacks of the Glockner Road conjures up a broad grin on your face, then our region is definitely right for you. What, still not enough? Then how about riding over the Felber Tauern, the Filzensattel or Gerlos Pass!
